William Cooper Wells

As you all know by now, William Cooper Wells was born to Ashley and David Wells on the 22nd of January, 2008, in Athens, GA., in St. Mary’s Hospital. Cooper was 7 lbs 10 oz at birth and 19 3/4″ tall.

Ashley came through it like a trooper. She had Cooper naturally with little pain medication. She bounced back from the labor incredibly well. Cooper joined us at 04:26 hours although the birth certificate will say 04:30 hours. I was just outside the birthing suite with Sherri and Ashley’s Dad, Charlie Carpenter. I was keeping an eye on my watch when I heard Cooper announce himself to the world. My watch said 04:26. Ashley’s mother Gail and David were present in the room for the birth.

You could hear David helping Ashley through the contractions. He was so proud of his new son. I was so proud for both of Cooper’s new parents. I’ve always had great respect for ALL my sons and daughters. Now I know why. They’ve all become strong and intelligent adults. Sherri and I are really PROUD of them ALL!!!

Speaking of proud, I have pictures in the Gallery, most of which you probably have already seen in my emails.

Anyhow… here is one of Coopers pictures when he was just fresh.

Ain’t he SWEET!!

A Small Apology

Hi Family… Randy here….

I owe you all an apology. I haven’t made a post to “Family Matters” since last month. My only mitigation is that I lost two hard drives on my computers which lost most of the programs and applications that I use to update the blog. I have been able to get back some of the files I’ve lost. I hope to have better luck from here on out.

The bad thing about the timing is that my first grandchild was born just after the big crash. I hope you all got the pictures. I was able to get out email.

Love to you all.

Randy

Good News…Bad News…

Hi Family… Randy here..

I got a few responses to last week’s post. I thought I’d share them with you.

Here’s the first one from Gordon Brigman.

New Baby coming to Memphis Amanda Brigman Lashley and husband Kent will have #2 April 18th Julia Lashley is 18 months and goes to Hutchison School where Amanda Teaches.

Thanksgiving - Due to Car problems Kenny and Kevin McCalman (Olivia’s Grand children) missed thanksgiving dinner. However later that night UNK alias G. B. took the boys out for a Men’s Only dinner at the Steak and Ale. The staff treated the boys royally and a great time was had by all.

Click here to go to the Picture Gallery for the latest pic from Gordon of his granddaughter Julia. She’s a cutie!!

Next comes news from Andy Wells… It seems that he and Joy are ending their marriage. Here’s his latest message…

Andy regrets to report that he and wife of 16 years, Joy, are divorcing. She has filed papers citing irrconcilable differences. They have been having problems for a couple of years. Andy has taken temporary quarters away from his home pending resolution of permanant custody for Robb but is hopeful the custody issue will be quickly resolved in his favor. He asks that you pray that all parties get through this ordeal safely

We’re always sorry to hear that our loved ones are getting divorced. It’s a tough time for all.

I know… been there… done that…

Please keep all parties concerned in your hearts and prayers.

That’s the latest from the Family…

Remember that we love all y’all.

It’s Almost Santa Time, Folks!

Hi Family….. Randy here…

Sorry about not posting last month. It’s been somewhat weird around the Wells’s in Georgia the last few weeks. I hope you had a Great Thanksgiving, one and all!!

I don’t have much news EXCEPT that I got some new pictures from Mark. They were taken in Indiana at Brad’s house. The Mississippi Wells’s got together at Brad’s house for Turkey Day. Brad’s significant other (Ashley) was there with her son Grant. He’s a cute little bugger and she’s a looker too!

My best wishes go out to you all as do our wishes for Happy Holidays for each and every one of you.

Remember that this is the Season for Love, Peace, Hope, and Joy. So get out there and Love one another.

Merry Christmas to All

There doesn’t seem to be any events this month EXCEPT for Christmas!

It’s October and Halloween is Coming!

Dearest Family… Randy here..
It’s October now and Halloween is coming. I’ve always enjoyed a good Halloween. Especially when you could get the homemade treats. Since people have the sick urge to hurt our children with doctored treats, I think that Halloween has been almost ruined as a time of fun and excitement. Hopefully that could change. The Jack-O-Lanterns are still great.

We have a few birthdays this month. You can see them by clicking here. We have one Event this month. Click here to view that one.

I’m sorry that I haven’t had the time to work on Family Matters more in the past few months. It’s been kinda busy around the household here in Loganville. I had the water line between the house and my meter to start leaking last week. Needless to say I’ve been busy with that. It’s a lot of dirt work, fixing a water line leak, and most of it was muddy. I got it taken care of in spite of myself.

If you have any news to share, please take the time to leave a comment or simply email me a post you’d like to see published. I’ll post it for you.

Anyhow….. Happy Halloween to All Y’all. We love you lots!

It’s August.. Summer’s Winding Down

Hi Family.. Randy here.

Summer’s almost gone and the Dog Days are coming. Fire up the AC and enjoy life!

Not much going on right now. We put down new wood floors in our house. I was time for the old carpet to go away. What have you guys been doing this last month? Leave a comment and let the family know what’s happening in YOUR life.

Check the Birthdays and Events for this month.

Keep on trucking and stay in touch. It’s through our connections with each other that we stay strong.

Love to All Y’all.

July Update

Hi Family… Randy here..

A Happy Belated 4th of July to all. I got a little behind the curve this week. I should have written this sooner. We have some birthdays this month. Click here to find them.

As for events, you can click here to view them.

Andy sent us a picture of Robb and it’s in the Picture Gallery. Go take a look. If you have any pictures you wish to share, please email me with them and I’ll post them.

Just a quick poll regarding pictures. I’m thinking of making more subdivisions of the Picture Gallery. Would you like to have your photos stored by Family Name (i.e., Smith, Jones, Doe) or by some other label. Leave me a comment as to your preferences.

Please keep sending input for Family Matters. There is enough of us out there now to have something from one of you posted every month. Think of it as an open letter to the Family.

Well I’m done for now. If you come across the email addresses of any of our cousins or other relatives, in-laws or out-laws, then send them to me and I’ll try to get them involved.

Love to All Y’all!

The “Iron Butt Run” for Special Olympics

Hi Family… Randy here..

Gordon Brigman, as I hope we all know, has been involved in the Special Olympics for quite some time. He has a special request of our Family. The information along with a letter further describing the project follows his personal request. You can donate simply by clicking on the link following his message.

Thanks!

Gordon Brigman writes:
Friends and Family -

Take a look at this and consider sponsoring “Klutch” for a penny a mile on the “Iron Butt Run” for Special Olympics, All the money will go to the Memphis Area Special Olympics and the over 1000Special Athletes that we have in the program. Klutch has been on the Alaskan roads for about 4 days headed for Key West. If you can’t do a penny try to do something. As far as I remember I have never asked for a donation this way. I think 6700 miles on a bike deserves a buck or two for Memphis Area Special Olympics.

Thanks Gordon

June Update

Hi Family… Randy here..

It’s June and where has the year gone! As a reminder, there are two holidays this month. June 14 is Flag Day. Be sure to show the “colors” if you can.

June 17 is Father’s Day. It’s a day to remember our fathers. Those who are with us and those who have moved on from this life. Happy Father’s day to all you DADs out there. Other than that it seems that June is a slow month for our family.

We only have one Birthday in June. Please follow this link to view it. If there is anyone out there you know of who has a June birthday, please give me all the details and I’ll be happy to add it into our Birthday Page.

Ashley Wells Is Expecting!!!!

Happy Memorial Day! It’s been a great one for the Wells of Loganville!

Ashley and David Wells just dropped the “we’re having a baby” bomb yesterday while we were having lunch. This will be their first child and our first grandchild. So that means that Sherri and I will be Grandparents!!!! finally…. Mark and Brad finally get to be uncles and Emily will probably be “Auntie EM” for the rest of her life. We are SO THRILLED!!!!!

Ashley said that they suspected she was pregnant earlier this month but weren’t sure until the blood test last Thursday. It’s a little soon to pin down a date. They expect that our new arrival will come in late January or early February 2008. HOORAY!!

Ashley will be a great mother and David a great father. That’s because they are great people. Not just because they’re my children, but because they are good and loving individuals who have great respect and love for everything and everybody. Ashley can’t help but know just how much she is loved and how much we all support her in this newest adventure of life.

As for Dave, I know that, for a guy, it doesn’t really seem real until the first time that you’re holding back your wife’s hair while she’s getting through her first bouts of morning sickness. Then reality sets in. You’re going to be a dad.. What greater blessing could God in his infinite universe bestow on anyone besides motherhood?

I would be amiss if I didn’t tell you of Sherri’s reaction. It involved a lot of squealing and a robust happy dance as soon as they told us. Not to leave out the hugging, kissing, and more squealing. You should have been there! All I could do was slap the boy on the back and grin. Needless to say, Ashley got a lot of hugs and kisses as did David.

We’re SO PROUD, Sherri and I. We are proud of all five of our children. We’re proud to be parents, future grandparents, and proud to be so fortunate in every way that counts in life.

I hope that God is loving you all real good, because he’s been loving us really well lately!

Happy Memorial Day!
